New stuff on the horizon

So much going on in the past six months!  I finished my first year of the MSW program at Portland State University.  Looking forward to starting again in the fall.  My internship this year will be at the Portland VA.

Levon's Helmet put out our full length debut, Have the Best Day, in February.  You can find it here: levonshelmet.bandcamp.com .  We got a pretty cool writeup in both the Willamette Week and the Portland Mercury.  I am immensely proud of this record as a songwriter, singer, and bandleader.  It also features unbelievably killer drums by Jason (as well as two cool songs of his), and phenomenal engineering by Evan Mersky over at Red Lantern Studios.  Shortly after releasing Have the Best Day, Jason and I decided to put Levon's Helmet on an indefinite hiatus to focus on other projects.  I've spent the summer writing new material, in a similar vein to previous Levon's Helmet material, but different ideas and slightly different aesthetics.  I'm looking forward to further developing this material in the fall and recording it in December.  Should have an EP out by February or so.  I haven't decided yet what name to use when I put this material out, so I'll keep ya posted.

Keep your eyes peeled for a 7 inch in the next few months as well...

Elisabeth and I finished our Heartwood EP in the Spring, and it's all ready to go, just need some artwork and we will print CD's and release it.  Should be out in the early fall.

Other than that, I've been playing a lot with Jack Dwyer in different configurations.  It's been super fun, and we're sounding like a pretty dang good country band.  We have a monthly two step show at the Alberta Street Pub, which is on the first Tuesday of the month.  We recorded a live show at Alberta Street Pub last winter, and Jack released it, you can find it here: https://jackdwyer.bandcamp.com/ .  We have plans to record again in the fall/winter.

I'll be pretty busy until June, but I plan on playing out with different bands at least a couple times a month, so be sure to check my calendar and come out to see me perform!
